What parents and educators are saying about us
As a homeschool mom, I really appreciate when an author puts so much effort into developing exceptional learning materials! My 3-year-old, who is learning how to read, loves the catchy songs with tunes she already knows, as well as the simple pictures that help her associate the words of the song with the color. This program is helping her get even better at putting words together. I give it a high recommendation for both teachers and homeschoolers, plus any parent who wants to help their child have fun while easily advancing their spelling skills.
I have nothing but praise for I Can Spell My Colors. I am a mother of six children. My oldest daughter learned these songs years ago. And she still remembers them! She would come home from preschool singing them. I was amazed how my other children learned the songs from her. Even my younger children who were not even in school yet would sing the songs! The tunes are familiar, so the children easily remember them. The words are catchy, so they want to learn them and sing them over and over! I was totally surprised when my then four-year-old could read all the colors just from learning the songs. I love I Can Spell My Colors and would recommend this resource to anyone who has young children or is teaching young children. You will be absolutely amazed!!
I was working on sight words with my daughter to prepare her for kindergarten. It was a fun surprise to learn that she already knew all her colors from preschool. When I asked her how she knew them, she proceeded to sing one of the color songs to me. I later found out the teacher had been using the book I Can Spell My Colors to teach her students.
I Can Spell My Colors is a delightful book with fun songs to sing along with. My grandkids 5 – 9 years old like to listen to it while driving with me in the car. My kindergarten granddaughter learned how to spell all of the colors in 4 rounds of listening. She likes to sing the songs now without the music playing. We had a lot of fun singing them all together. I highly recommend this book and songs to those looking for a catchy way to teach preschool and school aged children how to spell their colors.
My son who is just 2 years old loved seeing all of the illustrations. He wanted to move on quickly from each color because of his curiosity to see the next illustration. He kept saying, “See, See”. He loved the fire truck and song that goes along with RED. He kept saying “Fire truck” over and over again. I’m happy to have found a sing along book that will help my son learn his colors. The songs are simple and easy to remember. I know he will be singing along to them very soon!
I Can Spell my Colors by Barbara Wood is a fantastic book that teaches children how to spell their colors using familiar tunes. The book is filled with fun pictures and easy to read text as well as a soundtrack to go along with it. As a First Grade teacher, I love using the book in my classroom to help children learn to spell the different colors. The pictures in the book are colorful and helped my students have a visual connection with each color it was referring to. The songs are interactive and can easily be put to actions. After listening to the songs as we read the book, I began to use the songs in my classroom as my students transitioned from different subjects and activities to another. I like using music in the classroom to teach a concept and I Can Spell My Colors did that for me. I will continue to use this as I have seen children from a very young age learn and read the colors. I am thrilled with this book and will continue to use it in my classroom as well as with my own children.
